Because Apple do not duplicate the documentation from superclasses in subclasses. The objectForKey: method (not function) is defined in NSDictionary which is NSMutableDictionaries superclass. So any NSDictionary method can be called on a NSMutableDictionary.
Ooh that's good. My bad. Thanks for the clarification! :)

I would also suggest getting MenuMeters; it's an application that shows the specs of your system in the menu bar so you can always know what's going on with the system.
Another app is smbFanControl; it allows you to control the minimum speed of the fans and also has an option to show the speed at the top bar as well.

My friends are always sending youtube vids to discuss. Many of them are music videos which cannot be played on the ipad or iphone because the default is m.youtube.
I downloaded the Terra browser which spoofs a desktop CPU instead of a mobile device. However, most music videos seems to require Flash.
Either way, I can't watch them on the ipad/iphone.
Is there a Cydia app that would benefit me? or some other work around?
Thanks.

It seems a C2D 1.86GHz mobile CPU will do: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-Mac-mini-Model-A1176-Core-2-Duo-Processor/1178/1
As to RAM: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/mac-mini/
www.everymac.com is also a good spec resource.

Hello all,
I've been having the typical beachball and freezing issues that plague some of us that have decided to put an SSD in our MacBook Pros. After reading that Apple had released a different part number for the HDD cable (922-9062) I decided to check mine and see if I had the newer one. I did not, it was 821-0814.
I ordered a new cable from iFixit with the PN of 922-9062 listed on their website and received a 821-0814 cable. iFixit customer service says Apple does not change their part numbers externally on the device and that I in fact have a 922-9062 HDD cable now.
Can anyone confirm/refute this? Has anyone seen a 13" MBP HDD cable with 922-9062 printed on it?
This is NOT a thread intended to bash iFixit. They have been very good to me and I will continue to give them my business. I'm just hoping they're wrong in this one instance and I have a shot at getting my MBP to play nice with my SSD. :(

The only thing that interested me in that trailer was the hinting at there being replays and videos from in-game. I mean, it's been 3 years since Halo 3 came out and implemented its "Theater Mode" for viewing and saving replays, clips, and screenshots. It is about time another game tried to do this as well. Though, we haven't seen what the Theater Mode for Halo Reach will be like yet, so it could blow everything away... again. But, I'm glad to see more games trying this sort of thing. There are so many times in a game when crazy stuff happens, and not being able to show people has been a drag.

Hi folks,
I have an app that need a fairly complicate key array/nsdictionary list that it uses to calculate other information. The data isn't large and it needs to be accessible from several classes.
I've been reading around and people have used several methods, a singleton class , EXTERN variables, and property list.
I think apple recommends using plist?
And I would write code to populate the plist with the array. Where do I put this code, in the application didFinishedLaunching? So the xml/plist gets written or rewritten every time the application is launched?
thanks.

Just file a non-paying bidder report through ebay and wait it out. You'll get your listing fees back, then you can relist the item.
As a seller, you can not leave anything other than positive feedback for a buyer. Ebay made this change quite a while ago. Therefore, just don't bother leaving any feedback at all.
As a fairly prolific seller on ebay (I'm a power seller), this happens all the time. Just file the non-paying bidder report and move on.

Just a thought, but it's possible that the OP types faster than the average user, which could also explain why he's seeing lag that the rest of us don't.

Yeah I downloaded it a few days ago, at first glance I had/have no clue how to work it. I suppose I will fiddle with it some more, thanks.

I don't have an iPad2 or the camera kit but I do have the ability to use google so here you go: http://www.pcworld.com/article/195013/ipad_camera_connection_kit_connects_other_things_too.html
granted that article talks about the iPad1 so you will need to test the method to confirm it.
here is a tutorial for using handbrake to rip the movies in the first place: http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/tutorials/handbrake/index.shtml

I just bought a Canon Vixia HF R10. It works pretty good with iMovie. You should be able to find it for under $300.

Yes it is a terminal command. "sudo" is used to execute the command with the "root" user (system administrator), it will ask you for your login password before executing.

Just thought this was an interesting/ fun story.
From the NYT article (http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/02/20/a-wallet-lost-40-years-ago-now-is-found/?hp):
When Mr. Resta went to fetch his jacket at lunchtime on that long-ago day, the wallet was gone. He wasnt to see it again for 40 years. The reunion was made possible by Jos Cisneros, 46, a security guard who works in the former Times building, now called the Times Square Building. He came across the wallet last fall when he was investigating a void between an old unused window on the second floor and the masonry seal behind it. The wallet had apparently been stashed there after a thief found it in the coat closet and pulled out the cash.
Here's what Mr. Cisneros did. Recognizing that the wallet would surely have value to someone, he turned it over to Rafael Rodriguez, 38, the fire safety director at the Times Square Building. Because the wallet held several pieces of Times-related identification including Mr. Restas membership card in The New York Times Employees Blood Bank the two knew immediately that it had belonged to someone who had once worked in the building. This is very good, Mr. Rodriguez recalled saying to Mr. Cisneros. We could give it back to him or his family. That would be a fantastic satisfaction.

Im looking for some speakers for my iPod touch 4g. They should be under $100 and with great bass, because I will use them mostly for travelling parties. They have to be portable. I would probalby go for this:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/ipod-mp3-speakers/devices/4781
I read reviews and people say speaker is loud and clear and have good bass. It is also portable. Do you think they are good to buy or should I go for something else? Thanks a lot
I don't have that unit, but Logitech dock speakers are usually good bang-for-your-buck. I love their Pure-Fi Anywhere 2. Small & lightweight, can be plugged in or uses an internal rechargable battery. Sounds great despite it's small size. I listen to it outside on the deck, take it on vacations to a condo or hotel, etc. HOWEVER, it's not made to crank super loud like at a party (unless it's a party in a dorm room or similar).
The one you point to is a clock radio, basically, so I also question whether it would get loud enough for your needs. I think you should look at the Logitech S715i.

Refurbished? You mean a refurb 1st gen? I thought iMovie was for iP4, iPt4 and iPad 2...
There are video editing apps available in the App Store which work on the 1Gen iPad.
Although he mentions 'ipad is pretty great for film making'... maybe he means that it can help with the process [of making films]? Unless he's waiting for refurb iPad2s?
AFAIK you can't engrave refurbs though so OP should think that through.

Thank you, guys.
Indded it seems that infrastracture for multiple simultaneous logins in place,
but need some tweaking.
Thanks for the pointing to fast user switching - will dig in this direction
Not graphical ones: Quartz basically only expects one active user at a time
