Recently, I have had some great luck with my phones and AT&T plans, so I thought I would share. Sorry if this is a repost.
I stopped into a Radio Shack for a set of $2 wire clips, and somehow the subject of the iPhone came up. I had no idea that I could trade in my phone with them.
My wife's 8GB iPhone 3G was purchased at AT&T right after the 3GS launch for $99. After 2 years of use, several scratches, two large cracks in the back, and a loose home button, Radio Shack gave me $125 toward a 16GB iPhone 4 upgrade. So that was pretty awesome.
My 16GB 3GS is in even worse shape than hers; it has a small crack and a 2" scratch in the screen. The current trade in is at $185 towards an iPhone 4 upgrade. So that leaves me with an iPhone 4 for only 15 bucks.
Also, I learned that there is an early upgrade option as soon as 6 months. So worst case scenario, if I upgrade to an iPhone 4, and the 5 is something that I just have to have, it will cost me $450 (at 6 months) but I can sell my phone privately and it won't be too bad of a financial hit.
What do you guys think about it?

Hi,
I'm just trying to get some half decent prints with some photos I've taken on my 400d, desaturated and edited in Aperture, exported 8bit tiff files, then placed in a layout in inDesign cs5. Then exported to pdf to print from in my uni print room.
But when I print them the parts of the images which are meant to be the darkest are green, the rest of the image is decent.
I've tried using loads of settings when printing but cant find anything thats resolved it and its using up so much money and card!
The printer is a HP laser printer, pretty new I believe.
I've tried printing in grey scale and obviously it only uses the black cartridge and comes out relatively washed out.
Does anyone know much about this issue or how I can get round it?
I also tried opening the pdf in photoshop (rasterising it) and then printing but it gave the same results.
Luke.

Here is my review and I have never owned one. It looks like it will protect your phone but it is as ugly as dog poop.

don't worry about the custom option, simply type in the width and height you want for your new document, the app will then realise that this is a custom size.

The shadows are part of your background image on the main content area. There are some provisions for drop shadows in CSS but not enough browsers support them to really use them.
Cool - great. I will look in his image files.
A friend started this for me and had to stop, but this is actually teaching me much better than the books I have been reading because I can see the relation between code and Web site vetter.

I had the same issue...new Ipad 2g, I was going to add 1 playlist and got the msg. Thought "what the heck" and hit upload anyway. It added my playlist without deleting anything on my Ipad. It was rather disturbing tho, to see that warning come up.

I went to the original iPhone launch and iPhone 4 launch here. Still contemplating whether I want to do it again or order for home delivery.
Who else plans on lining up to get their Verizon iPhone? I'm kind of wanting to go just to see how the lines compare to the AT&T launch.

So my Classic has gone from it's old 20ish hour battery life to a measly 2-2 1/2 hours if I'm lucky.
My question is has anyone bought a good battery for the first gen 80GB Classic and if so does it outperform the old stock one?
Thanks!

What model is your MacBook? Perhaps you want to stick with 10.5 Leopard which works wonderfully even on an 1.6 GHz Atom with 1 GB Ram. Snow Leopard needs at least 2 GB and sometimes is slower than Leopard on older Macs, that was my experience at least.
Now the point is: Upgrade price. I mean, you can easily find a Snow Leopard upgrade disc for $ 29 which works even with Tiger. Instead going Leopard would be more difficult and expensive and personally I would not get too excited about using SL with 1 GB Ram. I have used Tiger on a PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz with 512 MB Ram from over 6 years ago (perhaps 7) and it did not skip a beat.
I hope you take the right decision.

Connected my monitor to my Mac Mini and this is what I get:
OVER SIZE
RECOMMAND MODE
1280X1024
I have a flat-screen Princeton LCD monitor and using minidisplay to vga adapter.
Is my monitor too old? It's my friend's old one he gave to me, and he said he bought it when flat screen LCD models were still a "new thing."

This would be great news if they do manage to release a wireless one. Maybe they can go back to the 3 AA batteries or even 4 to maximize the battery life.

Can't you pull the hard drive out of the PC and put it in the imac? Sounds to me like the logic board may have gone out on your PC. That is similar to how our PC acted when that happened. If you think it would boot from the CD-ROM, you could put a knoppix LiveCD in there to boot off linux and remove the songs, but sounds like your PC won't boot.

I wasnt sure where to post this. But I had received one of these phone calls tonight from a phone number 052312293 leaving me a message to call them back at 646-770-2874. The message they left me was stating that either I or my attorney should call them as this is critical and then wish me luck and god bless. Also saying his name was Dave Johnson altho he sounded like he was Middle Eastern. So I googled these numbers and found out that these are scams and that supposedly they have your SSN bank acct or credit card numbers. Also saying that it is from a pay day loan (which I do not know what a pay day loan is or even applied for one). So I called the 646 number and a lady had answered and I asked her why the bleep are you scamming people? She told me that it was a legit firm and that she knew my name (FYI i didnt give her my name over the phone). So I asked her to tell me my name and she refused to do so after we argued a minute. She then gave the phone to some guy and he also said he knew my name and who I was. Then he told me he was my father. Then they hung up on me also blocking me from calling them now. My brother had even called them on 3 way and they still claimed to be legit. Now I had to do all this stuff with my bank acct changing it as well tomorrow as some people had money taking from them already. I also had to put an alert out on my SSN for 90 days. I also called the FTC which I heard is crock anyways.
I just wanted to warn people in case you come across this or already have had these phone calls as I am not the only one who has had this happen to. I do not order stuff online I do not trust that. If I do you usually see the "lock" symbol as well anyways. Just be careful I guess as this scared the heck out of me already. So far my acct has nothing missing but still I am worried.

I had an idea, in the iFixIt teardown they mentioned it is now possible to replace the graphics chips in the new iMac's, I would like to buy a base model iMac, 999. And then swap the graphics in for a AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics chip with 1GB or 2GB memory.
But I can't find any chips online to buy? Can you not buy these?

Whoo the iMacs are impressive. What speed are you averaging on the computer? I just added my brothers computer to the Macrumors folding.

I had a similar problem when I first installed an HDMI switch. I changed the switch to an older one and it worked.
I have a sneaky feeling that maybe newer HDMI equipment is more strict about DRM rules on handshaking (aka HDCP) whereas maybe the older HDMI equipment ignored those flags.
Some people say that if you go into the control panel of Mac Min and change sleep settings to display always on, this problem will go away. I have never investigated this since I already put in the new HDMI switch.
