Whilst you're right that many of us would struggle picking out our favourite beer brands from a line up it would be easy to spot the one that doesn't actually taste of beer at all, namely Budweiser.

Oh please. word opens in like less than a second and I only have a core duo and 1.5gbs of ram.
I only have 1 GB with my MacPro. Excel & Word only run slowly if I'm also running Parallels Desktop for Mac at the same time. Add in FireFox & you'll find out how slow virtual memory can be big time.
At those time I'm not sure I can wait until those FB DIMMs come down in price to a more reasonable, affordable level.

Tuesday's fine with me, too. Can't say what I'll be wearing...probably jeans and a brown coat of some sort. I'll have the business card thing going on, so look for the "MR" label sticking out of my badge holder. (No cowboy hats, chaps, or spurs for me.)

Funny part is, most people who are opposing the mosque aren't jews, they're christians. As a matter of fact, BLOOMBERG (can't get anymore jewish than that) is a supporter of the mosque project.
Bloomberg has no choice but to support the Mosque ... he needs to stay politically correct

I think they should add a "buy a new mac" button on the crash dialogue that takes you to the online apple store. Maybe even a splash page that says "Old mac crashing too much? Try one of these new babies!"
I'm glad your not in Apples marketing department. :p

I had my tounge done about six months ago, and it did not hurt near as much as I thought it was going to. It was more annoying than anything for a couple of weeks, and I couldnt talk at all for like three days. But after 2-3 weeks I didnt even notice it anymore. Like now, I forget that I have it all the time, then I catch myself in a mirror or a window and see it and it freaks me out. Kinda funny.

nVidia claims 142W for a Quadro 4000, and PNY for example, has it at 152W. Either way, this is less power than some gaming cards pull, and is why it's possible to use 2x of them in a MP.
BTW, it's ~110W or so more under full load for a pair of 5770's than a pair of Quadro 4000's. :D
Works good as a space heater hear in the Great White North eh! ;)

i and being to use neooffice for quick viewing of files but when it comes to writing my own documents i do have to fire up the old excel and word. Which is still a pain even with 2gb of ram and a core 2 duo.

Oh, I see. Bummer. :( Try hiding it under the desk. Or better still, say you have to go to the restroom. That was always my excuse for any urgent business during a lesson.
It's kinda hard to do that in band, which is next. I have like 5 more minutes on here.

Because it's really easy to connect an iPod to your TV and watch your videos that way. There are also several peripherals (http://podophile.com/2006/07/26/memorex-announces-iflip-video-player-for-ipod/) coming out soon that add a larger wide screen to the iPod. And don't forget watching videos on your MacBook or MacBook pro.
Flowbee, that is my thought exactly...I think the next gen of ipod will come with an Ipod-->RCA cable; it makes the most sense and puts apple in a good position to be an on-demand competitor. Don't get cable tv? No problem, dump the show on your ipod via itunes, slap the cables in your tv and go.
Full screen video ipods are nice, but give people the chance to use their ipod like they'd use a dvd player (but be able to bring it with them to anyone's tv) and that's where the $$$ is in an itunes movie store.

I got a little credit card looking thing in the mail. I'll be bringing it all with me just in case. The only thing I can commit to is being at the Axiotron presentation at the OWC booth at about 2:30PM for some big announcement (http://eshop.macsales.com/Reviews/Framework.cfm?page=/macworldexpo/mwsfo2007.html). And even that I can't commit to really. Too bad we don't have hats or something.

So this is a NEW release of a highly popular game and it's coming to the MAC?
Bravo.
No, you can't play it via Media Access Control.

I just went to Best Buy too. All they would say is that they will hold me a iphone when available and that no one is guaranteed an iphone on launch day but that they should get enough to meet the preorders.
I asked if this included the white iphone, considering that Apple and At&t are not offering it, and I was told by the clerk who was helping me that he checked all the Best Buy employee news and email and that he has been told the white iphone will be available at launch.
So I ordered 2 white 32GB phones. Crossing fingers....

Graphics board and heat sink from new 21.5-inch iMac
- The AMD graphics chip is located on a separate board from the main logic board, allowing for replacement of the GPU without the need for an entirely new logic board. Apple of course doesn't make the GPU board particularly easy to access, as it is not considered a user-replaceable part, but it can be done.-The new iMac features the same LG display found in the previous generation.
By the way, guys, the iMacs have had separate mobile graphics boards since the first aluminium models from August 2007. The fact that you can replace these boards without replacing the logic board is OLD NEWS. These boards are the same that you'd find in super-thick, high-end gaming PC laptops. It also explains why you're not seeing any higher than a 6750M in a MacBook Pro.

They probably don't want you to make music or burn it to dvds anymore- just buy stuff on their itunes store.
Without idvd or garageband, it's a useless upgrade for me.
No, they want you to purchase Logic instead.
I have a 40GB that still works from a decade ago. You are not supposed to use hard drive for other purposes than just installation and copying files. Hard drives can last just as long as DVDs. Its far easier to scratch a dvd than to scratch the platter in the hard drives. You can also simply back up the hard drive to another hard drive or have the company send you a replacement for a fee just as you can with DVDs.
And it's far easier to drop HDs so your $1200 sw is DOA. It always depends on how you take care of your stuff. I have thousands of CDs/DVDs, and none of them is scratched; obviously I do not throw them around my desk either.

You really think apple is going to let you store music that you didn't buy from them for free? My guess is all music purchased from iTunes can be streamed, and mobile me users can upload theirs.
Another post afflicted with apple content profits fallacy. The ONLY reason apple will restrict it to only new purchases is because of music company licensing restrictions. As the recent numbers revealed, apple makes a pittance on the iTunes store. At least the folks displaying this fallacy with apps have the fair argument that promoting app sales makes the iOS platform sticky. With the absolutely drm free music sold in the iTunes store, there is no advantge for apple to sell music.
This also ignores apple's history completely. One reason media companies hated apple was because they added cd ripping software straight in their flagship music player software. But not just that, they promoted the Mac by marketing its ability to easily rip music CDs.

I'd like to know if it will run on my last-gen 24 inch iMac (The cheaper 24 inch), before I commit. Portal 1 runs fine (without any fancy stuff).
Anyway, the whole idea of a FPS where you don't quite 'shoot', is brilliant IMO. Best game ever :)
