I've owned a few iPod's through the course of years, and have to say I loved the 5th gen iPod most, but gave it to my brother for a gift. I'd like to get a new classic, but bleh. The UI isn't my favorite, is there a way to get the old UI where it covered the whole screen instead of having split screen? thanks.

Basically anyone reputable will make cameras that will work with iPhoto (except the 20D, but that's an SLR). If they don't, then what are the chances they make a quality product?
Don't buy a kodak,HP,Sony. Stick with CAMERA companies (Kodak makes film, not cameras) like Nikon, Canon, Pentax etc.

Does no one know about this at all really?
It seems to be a problem with dhcp. I noticed that it had a 169 IP adress, so tried to change it, now it won't get ip address automatically.
There must be someone out there that has had this problem before, I like to think i'm unique, but that's just an ego thing really.

Still if google is found guilty of using Oracle's technology they're in deep kimchi
Actually, with only 3 patent claims left and Google entitled to keep 8 prior art references for invalidity before the jury, the deepness might not be as big as you think it is. ;)

I did it on both my iPhone and iPad screen protectors. Helped them go on nicely. No bubbles on iPhone, but the iPad one had a couple. fixed them right up with the scotch tape trick.

Having the iPod restored at an Apple store should be free. Just bring your connector cable and attach it to a Mac.
By the way, you're not using a third-party cable, are you? I've had corruption issues because of a crappy cable before.
Do you know anyone else who has a computer you can use to do this restore? Try syncing with their computer and see if it works. If it does, it's something on your computer. (Are you using Windows?)

Apple Pen Patents Suggest Apple Wants In on Wacom's Graphics Tablet Game http://pulsene.ws/Ymc9
Dammit. Having successfully resisted the siren call of the iPad, this would actually make it a must-buy. Damn you, Apple! *shakes fist*
Note that I'm not suggesting that this could replace a Cintiq, but I can't take a Cintiq downstairs and use it in front of the TV Plus, you don't seem to have been able to actually buy a 21" UX for love nor money since the middle of last year.
Cheers

Well your icon at Tibathon looks like a rip off of Adium's icon ;)
Just kidding. I agree about it being a rip off of SmoothOperator. I find it odd that this even got posted to MacBytes.
hehe I do not deny I am using the Adium duck ad my avatar :)
I thought it was odd too..kind of came out of no where.
I am surprised that the theme was even posted on adium too...Im surprised the author of smooth operator has not said something - but others seem to be bringing it up.

Some sort of moisture may have seeped in through the back glass through humid temperatures/condensation/etc.
As long as the moisture sensors haven't been tripped (look at the indicator in the dock connector - if the indicator is white, you may be fine, if it's orange - water may have gotten into the unit) Apple will give you limited support for the issue.
They may replace the back glass of give you a refurbished unit in exchange for that phone.

I have 4 hard drives (Mac OS Journal formatted) that I want to move from my Mac Pro to an external enclosure. Then I want to be able to access the drives with my new Mac Pro. They contain data now and I obviously don't want to format them. Do I need to do anything to set up the external enclosure? Should I set it up first, attach it to the Mac Pro and then transfer the data? Or can I just remove them, pop them in the enclosure and connect to the MP?
Any recommendations on a 4 bay enclosure?

This is a perfectly good place to ask that question. I haven't done any network programming for OSX myself but a quick look in the cocoa book I have points to NSFILEHANDLE and NSSTREAM as the two classes you might need. Looking over at the apple documentation gives two pages that will probably point you in the right direction.

You mite want to start learning HTML, CSS, and jQuery. You will only become more and more limited by iWeb, that is not designed for professional sites regardless.
Once you have a mastering of basic HTML and CSS then moving onto jQuery will give you all the power you need for interactive slideshows and many other things. jQuery coding is quite trivial and easy to learn though can be difficult to master as most things are.
Wordpress wile good at what it does will pull up the same road blocks as iWeb if you do not know how to get into the nitty gritty to do the things you want.

Have you tried a soft reset? You can perform this by holding the home button and the lock button together for around ten seconds the Phoebe would automatically switch off and restart displaying the apple logo for around another 20 seconds, in normal cases that would resolve your issue if not I would try to restore the iPhone via iTunes.
Hope that helps.

For quite some time ago NeXT Information Archive was sadly forced to close down because it was hacked ( again ) and the previous owner simply had enough of it all. We all lost a great place for finding information regarding these systems which today is still very much alive and kicing under the hood of Mac OS X.
If you don't seem to recall NeXT Information Archive, it can perhaps help your mind going if we inform you, that it was the guys who brought you stuff like the NeXTSTEP / OpenStep 4 beta video, aswell as the video where Steve Jobs, in person, demos NeXTSTEP 3.0 on his NeXT computer.
Today I'm proud to announce that NeXT Information Archive is back and not just for a small amount of time. We've freshen ourself up and is taking new goals to once again continue as the number 1 place for all your NeXT information. In the progress we thought that a name change was the way to go so from this day on NeXT Information Archive is now NeXT Archive - this is simply because we don't just deal with information anymore but actually provide the things directly to your computer. Forum, files, knowledge - it's all there... just click in at http://www.nextarchive.net
Remember that much of the NeXT stuff is still present in Mac OS X and it never hurts to know your OS well.

Personally I think you would be much better doing the repair yourself or letting a friend do it if you know anyone with technical experience.
Apple will charge for the replacement parrt and the labour which will probably be > 100/$.

I've got a mint condition 80GB 5.5 gen iPod video. it's black, no scratches. What kind of LCD.... TV or computer display? size?
It's a Dell computer display, 15". Model: E151FPp. There is a small scratch on the screen though. Its really not that noticeable when the display is on though. I can post pictures if you'd like.
And I'm interested in your iPod. I'll send you an offer via PM.

Apple is anti-jailbreak, as you've learned the hard way; when you jailbreak your iDevice, you don't ever want to update it through iTunes.
If you can restore or start new from within iTunes, then I'd recommend giving Apple a call.

sure it should work like on any other pc running windows xp ,vista or 7
the only difference between a Mac and any other pc like a dell for example is the Mac has open firmware while the pc has a bios other then that they are identical , so once windows is installed and booting you got a native pc , and therefore all peripherals that are compatible with windows will work, just like on a pc that meets the minimum requirements of that peripherals
