Minimalism or what!
Had I not opened this up in Preview I would never have known what to look for!
Yeah :o
Maybe I should just make it a still avatar eh?, well that would save some space.

Today I connected my iPhone 4 to my Bose speaker that has a specific connection for iPhone, and to my surprise I started getting pop ups to dismiss saying that the device is not compatible. I continued trying until it started to play the music. This was not happening with my iPhone 3gs or recent iPod Touch. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I thought the iPhone 4 was updated and more compatible to issues like these.

You take the name of the song, type it into iTunes and purchase.
It's some backyard rap music that someone made and isn't on iTunes.
It would be easy if it was a popular song by a popular artist.

the problem is, it's hard to start any worthwhile threads that have some small connection with anything 'old skool' and still remain on topic after 10 posts.
i'm surprised that this forum hasn't been an all out spam forum for most of the users here. what is 'old skool' anyways? are there any specific topics that we can really discuss?
i tried to start the quiz, but it didn't really seem to take off. that was probably the last thing you could do with the old skool forum.

I'm looking into upgrading my MA206LL/A mac mini CPU and RAM. My question is what is the best / fastest processor that is compatible with the motherboard? What should I look for in terms of compatibility for the CPU? What about the RAM?

Had a SGP on my Droid and it was very good, but I am not using a protector on my IP4. I don't think it needs it.

I was reading through some archives on mac security and came across an article detailing a trojan hidden in an mp3 file that surfaced 2004 and could affect mac operating systems.
This got me wondering about the way such threats can be packaged across all platforms and then dragged this question from somewhere out of my paranoid subconscious:
If an mp3 contained any kind of malware (trojan/virus, thinking cross platform here) and it could play music what would happen if it was burned as an audio cd and then ripped back to mp3 file?
Would the malware remain intact and just take up residence in the newly ripped file or would it be destroyed?
What if it were to be burned as an audio cd then ripped back into a different file format, flac, aac etc.
Would the malware survive that?
Converted from mp3 to a different file format, how about that?
In fact, would it be possible to create an audio cd from an infected file without the burning software crashing before it was done?
Any ideas, theories or  experiences?
This isn't a specific mac question, more of a general cross platform just kind of wonderin' if anyone else has thought of it question.
I haven't got an infected mp3 file to try else I'd give it a go on my old windows pc to see what happens.

Thanks for the advice. I will try that when I get home from work today. Do I issue that command from the terminal screen? Sorry to sound so clueless. I'm not familiar at all with the server version yet. I guess I need the OSX server for dummies book!

The icon problem doesn't sound right to me. If you don't have the applications (Office etc.) the icons will show up all generic like but otherwise you have a problem. Try repairing permissions using Disk Utility in the Utilities folder in Applications. Hopefully that'll put them right.
As for the folder sorting in the finder, try sorting by type instead of alphabetically. I'm not near my Mac so I'm not sure if this will work but it will keep the folders separate from files etc and it should still keep them alphabetized in their respective groups. Fingers crossed! :)

I think that's pathetic.
Should have let this thread die on 11/21.
Agreed. I expected better than fart jokes, but I guess Microsoft is involved so, should've known anything involving that would be taken down a few notches...

Hello,
I have a PDF that I genereated using Adobe Acrobat Professional which have textboxes to get information and submit button to post data to database. It runs on a webserver and works great on windows and ie, netscape and etc..., when the page is loaded browser loads the pdfviewer shows file as expected but functionality is not there. Submit button on IPAD's PDF viewer does not show up at all as the main problem.
Anyone have a solution to this, will be great if the web app works on IPAD.
Thanks

When you get into the XP setup area, make sure you format the drive correctly also. I got stuck on this if i didn't recreate the partition / format it would not boot

The walmart on the beach side will have 2. Yes 2. I'm here now using my phone to check the forum. I'm still the only person so someone come claim spot #2. Bring a pillow and a sleeping bag or something and a deck of cards lol. I need some company. The associate told me people keep calling but no one has came yet.
Did you wait and get the phone? Were they the 32GB models? We came up the next morning - early, but 2 peeps already had them claimed.

PhoneView for the Mac, TouchCopy for Windows--both extract voicemails directly from the phone though, not sure about from backups. I know the demo version of PhoneView won't let you save voicemail, you have to purchase the full version, but it's saved my hide more than once when iTunes decides to eat my data during a so-called sync, so for that alone, it's been worth the price. Add in that I can archive both texts and voicemail on the computer, and it's worth a lot more than they charge.
I'm not as familiar with TouchCopy, but a friend has it and bought it specifically to save vmail from her iPhone. As I recall, there was a demo version and it was the same thing, she had to get the full setup to get that ability. It appears to have most of the same features as PhoneView, and it's recommended for Windows users on the PhoneView FAQ.
You don't need to be jailbroken to use either program.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)
And it might even be 8.1. Either way the PowerBook is pre-USB, so I'm not sure how a flash drive would work.
Ah, didn't realize it didn't have usb. It would probably be easiest to use network drive space then. I don't imagine the PB had a big enough hard drive in it to have tons of data.

I am planning on doing Windows 7 64 Ultimate. The current game I am on is Black Ops and Left 4 Dead 2. All source game does run well on OSX with Steam. I am trying to decide if it is worth it to install Windows just for Black Ops lol. I saw a video of it running single player. Does anyone have any experience with multiplayer Black Ops?
