It supposedly has crashed. On a good note, it got me out of a really boring videoconference meeting today.
Last I heard it was back up and running now. Outage was global.

I'd love to see the Tea Party try that. :p Could you imagine the majority leader losing his seat at a time when his party doesn't have the Senate or Presidency? That would be such a huge blow.
And who knows if a teabagger could win in Boehner's district.

I dloaded that iphone3,1_4.3.2.zip file. (which was selected when I picked the iphone4, 4.3.2 selection. When I unzip it, there is no .ipsw in it. all I find is a bunch of .dmg files and other folders.
Change the file name from 4.3.2.zip to 4.3.2.ipsw

Dear readers and admins
My question is about the "correct" setting of the user and group rights, so the following is possible. It relates to Server 10.3 and to 10.6.
Requirements:
Group 1 = "Regular user "
Group 2 = "Administration, Accounting "
User 1 and 2 belong to group 1, users 3 and 4 belong to Group 2.
User 1 & 2 must have read/write access to files and folders in Group 1, but may not have access to files and folders of group 2.
User 1 & 2 must be in a position of creation and deletion of file and directory of group 1, as if they were their own files and directories. I.e. User 2 must be in a position to delete or change files and directories that an other user of group 1 has created.
User 3 & 4 must have read and write access to files and directories of Group 1 & 2. They must be able to creating and changing such files and directories, as if they were their own files and directories. I.e. User 3 & 4 must be able to create and change files and directories which belong to user 1 & 2.
As I understand it, this can be achieved with ACL's under Server 10.4 and newer as well as with complex user- and group settings under 10.3.
Am I right there?
How does such a structure look like in 10.3?
What would such a structure look like with ACL's?
I unfortunately don't have a server 10.3 running and my 10.6 server is down due to technical problems.
Thank you in advance for your help.
All a happy new year.
Regards
Thomas Thaler

AbiWord (http://www.abisource.com/) 2.2 is now out. Unlike 2.0 there is also a native MacOS X version available :)
Download it @ Sourceforge.net (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/abiword/) (you may have to scroll down a bit for the OS X version)
Spotted this at OSNews.com (http://www.osnews.com/).

I got here about 10:30 and maybe 20/25 in line. Now looks to be about 50 in line. Several security guards are here so I am guessing that they are expecting a much bigger crowd by 5pm.

When you work with wireless networking, interference from ALL kinds of sources becomes a problem.
Last night, I had my MacBook Pro resting on the bed with the Buffalo Wireless-N access point in the nearby closet. My wife was blow-drying her hair and I was trying to connect to my computer in the other room, which is hard-wired.
I couldn't get connected at all. I could ping the computer but even when I attempted to connect over AFP directly to the IP address, it wouldn't connect. Finally, I connected over FTP, but was getting sporadically slow bursts of data, followed by fast bursts of data.
Then my brain started functioning... and I moved the laptop from the top of the bed (near my wife and the blow dryer) to the end of the bed and experienced fast connection speeds again.
Check your environment. Are you near a HVAC unit? A major power line in the wall? Another wireless transmitter?
After that, I might suggest trying the "hack" to put an external WiFi antenna on your Mac Pro.

I just bought a Canon Vixia HF R10. It works pretty good with iMovie. You should be able to find it for under $300.

I think we are talking about two different things here. If we are talking about persisting a small bit of data then a plist is likely the answer. When it comes to accessing the same data from several classes then singleton is the answer. So in your case you probably want to load data from a plist into a singleton.

I feel slightly insulted, as noone here expects me to have done any research. After clicking the "Create trial acount" button in the teaser, it leads you to an error page. You click "Return to Main", whereafter you click the "Create Accoutn" button. Then you agree to some license stuff, and it then asks for the auth key here (https://signup.wow-europe.com/authkey.html).
Now I'm confused. The create account button says, it is for excisting guest costumers, who decide to purchase a full acount. I don't understand this, as I the see nowhere to create a trial account.
EDIT: Problem solved. I got the trial key he got from Burnign Crusade. Thanks a lot for your replies. :)

That looks to be a cheap or free DSL modem given to you by your internet provider? It's entirely possible it's just a piece of crap and you need a better router.
I got a free router built in with my FIOS modem, but it's a piece of crap. I hooked up an Airport Extreme to it and use that instead.

The hard drive is unplugged (booting from the floppy) and all its been doing for the last 6 years is display the time.
Can my clock's fan be unplugged safely? Its not loud, but the white noise ruins the silence when I'm trying to read a book.

Reception is fine. You need to worry about the water cooling system on your CPUs.
