Today it's Wednesday, so first of all, don't forget tunning TLC and watch new LA ink episode!
Next to High Voltage Tattoo Shop Kat von D opens an art gallery.
Seems that not happy enough having her own Wonderland at her pink -heavy tattoo shop, she manages a shop based on her other passion: painting.
Name of the place: Wonderland Gallery. Guess names' inspiration.
Where to find:
Next to HVT.
Wonderland Gallery
1257 N. La Brea Ave
West Hollywood, CA 90038
When? 2nd Sept
Will Kat expose her works? Don't think so. An art gallery is set for sell and she does tattoos but doesn't sell her sketches.
Now it's time for introducing and helping new and not so new artist to be known.
From her show and book she has introduced who portrayed her (Shawn Barber, Kevin Llewelyn) and who admires the most (Kevin Llewelyn, Michael Hussar).
Does she plan to exhibit her photography? Don't know but I think it'd be great!
Kat von D has worked hard with her skills on photography, she built her own studio close to her home. The Monastery is the place where many of the pictures that will appear on Tattoo Chronicles where taken
Nikki Sixx encouraged Kat von D to improve her skills in subjects she was good at and that he could teach her how to improve such as photography and music.
Coming back to the topic, the gallery opens next friday with an old friend, Llewelyn, whose website annouces his upcoming exhibition at Kat's new place.
Back in June Kat shared a picture of her in his studio. The painting behind her has been picked up to promo the exhibition.
Where have I seen his work before?
HVT walls have a paiting from him, a red- eyed Virgin Mary. Kevin also portrayed Kat von D as a noon. This painting belongs to Nikki Sixx and it will be part of the exhibition.
All by now, but... wouldn't be awesome if someone living in L.A. took a picture of the door next to High Voltage and shared it?
Just a suggestion, you know...
Become a Facebook fan. Not Twitter profile for the gallery yet.
