Today, browsing for news and interesting stuff for the blog, I though it would be nice to do research on the upcoming book.
Two things surprised me:
- How easy is to preorder and become crazy thinking about the waiting :)
- There is a second cover design for Tattoo Chronicles (take a look at "KAT VON D" design letters)
You can preorder at Borders , Barnes & Noble and Amazon. As usual, Amazon offers you buying it for $10 less.
About the cover:
Take a look at those pictures. The first was gently provided by Kat. The second appears at Collins publishing catalog.
Here is a summary from Harper Collins. The publishers will release 100,000 copies!
Before HVT (High Voltage Tattoo) was released, she described herself as a journalistic person. So, it was a matter of time that Tattoo Chronicles saw the light.Kat Von D’s followup to her New York Times bestseller High Voltage Tattoo offers an intimate look at a pivotal year in her personal and professional life through an illustrated diary that begins in spring 2008 and ends in summer 2009.
When Kat does a tattoo, she writes about it and draws sketches in a journal, creating an entry for each piece. She has hundreds of ledgers of these entries in her own writing which reflect not only upon the significance of the tattoo for the person who is receiving it (their story), but also how the experience of creating this tattoo affects her personally. In these entries – some poignant, some hilarious, some serious – she lays it on the line about how doing these tattoos affects her life and her art. Here are the highs and the lows, the good, bad, and the ugly – including her feelings about her fame, her family, her boyfriend (Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue), her friends, and fans.
Visually stunning, this graphically compelling diary is jam-packed with tons of Kat's sketches, candid photographs, images of a variety of amazing finished tattoos and her many unusual personal collections – all shot by Kat herself. Fans will love the array of clients featured here, including Metallica's Kirk Hammett, guitarist Dave Navarro, and Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister, as much as they will love seeing new photographs of Kat that were taken specifically for the book. Here's the real Kat Von D – unscripted and uncensored – and her fans are going to go wild for it.
"In real life, I have a lot of journals going on at once",the star of cable's television's L.A. Ink said last week "...I write about every person I've ever tattoed. I like to be able to document everything I do."
Fans of Kat von D, this autumm brings as a new (and maybe last season) of LA ink, the lauch of new perfume, Adora, and the book plus the signning Tour, first time in EU.
I hope she is training good for the Marathon on 6ht June supporting Leukemia and for the next events waiting for her!
If you haven't read HVT, what better way for your waiting than searching a used or new book and devour it?
