This is gonna hurt

Another man brings fresh news: Nikki Sixx. He is releasing soon new stuff.
This week, Sixx A.M. (Sixx, DJ Ashba, Michael) video Lies of Beautiful People was lauched after a long wait. Their last album was released on 2007.

Nikki was a busy bee touring with Mötley Crue and working in his successful daily radio program, SixxSense. And not busy enough, he was writting an autobiography called This is gonna hurt. A journal that includes his thoughts and best work as a photographer. Avaliable one moth later that was been said: April  2011 under Harper Collins edit.(Heroin Diaries, High Voltage, Tattoo Chronicles).

Meanwhile all these projects were in progress, Nikki and Kat were a couple and for this reason, Kat has an important presence in his works as a muse an inspiration.
Lies of Beautiful People video works perfect to promo both book and album since both share the same title: This is gonna hurt. You can enjoy a nice collection of pictures, from behind scences to Nikki's best mindblowing photographies.

As it happened with Kat, editorial and production schedules and calendars made that we are now witnesses of private confessions a love that it's gone. A bittersweet delay of time, like a realtionship that it's already existing in a past time, post-mortem.

This is gonna hurt foreword was written by Kat, as Nikki once did for her High Voltage Tattoo best-seller (2008).

Images as the one above will be seen in the documentary that was recorded meanwhile Kat was writting her Tattoo Chronicles. Release date still unknown.

Esto va a doler

Otro hombre nos trae notícias sobre Kat, su antigua pareja Nikki Sixx está de estreno.
Esta semana ha visto la luz el videoclip del que es el primer single del esperado regreso de Sixx A.M.: Lies of Beautiful People.

El grupo formado junto a DJ Ashba  y James Michael. no sacaba disco desde 2007. Nikki había estado muy comprometido con sus giras con Mötley Crue y su exitoso programa de radio diario SixxSense. Y por si todo este trabajo no era suficiente, Nikki todavía encontraba un hueco para preparar un libro autobiográfico que recoge sus mejores y más inquietantes fotografías y pensamientos. This is gonna hurt, que así se titula se pondrá a la venta un mes más tarde de lo que se dijo, en abril, bajo la editorial Harper Collins (Heroin Diaries, High Voltage, Tattoo Chronicles) en forma de diario. ¿igual que el segundo libro de Kat, verdad?

Mientras estos proyectos se gestaban Nikki y Kat todavía eran pareja y por ello, Kat está muy presente en la obra de Nikki como musa e inspiración.
El videoclip Lies of Beautiful People funciona a la par como promoción del grupo y del libro ya que  ambos salen bajo el mismo titulo: This is gonna hurt. El video hace un repaso tanto las sesiones de fotos para el diseño del disco como los increíbles trabajos de Nikki como fotógrafo.

Como le ocurrió a Kat con último libro, los calendarios editoriales y de producción hacen que podamos ser testigos de confesiones tan íntimas ahora que ya no son pareja. Un amargo retraso en el tiempo, como una relación que continúa desfasada en el tiempo, post-mortem.

El prefacio de This is gonna hurt lo abre Kat al igual que Nikki lo hizo para su primer libro, High Voltage Tattoo (2008).

En el documental que se grabó mientras ella escribía Tattoo Chronicles se nos mostrarán instantáneas cómo ésta mientras Nikki trabajaba en su disco. Por cierto, el documental contínua sin fecha de estreno o venta.

"Nikki is truly my best friend. We have our ups and downs but, I will always be there for him and love him. We still constantly talk. He has helped me through so many things and I am truly blessed to have him in my life. I couldn’t imagine myself without him some-what in my life. Yes, we have officially been broken up, I am currently dating Jesse James. And no, Nikki and I haven’t gotten back together since."

"All I have to say is, I’m happy. It matters what’s on the inside. Jesse is honestly the sweetest guy ever and I’m super lucky to have him. Everybody makes mistakes and sure, what he did was wrong but, I’m in love."

Aside that Nikki was the sweetest ever, we can't wish her nothing but all the love and happiness. She's clear, she's in love.

Wonderland is the title of the new blog of Kat @Tumblr. I really miss Kat writtinig longer posts on MySpace and Tumblr is a great and so easy to share tons of content. The average of users are artistically inclined and the content that you can find is amazing. 

Based on simple icons follow (cross), like (heart), reblog (obvious) and ask you don't have to be afraid of trying microblogging, focused above all on sharing content.

back in summer, when Nikki and Kat were still together, they both made a break during the Motley Crue EU Tour to visit one of their fave cities, Prague. This video was recorded by Kat for his program, SixxSense during her visit to the Bone Church which contains bones from  more than 60.000 people.

People living in L.A or visited don't need to keep reading.

Wonderland Gallery is the new platform for Kat von D and it's gonna be open right next to High Voltage Tattoo Shop, on the corner.

What kind of business the previous local was? Unsurprisingly, an art gallery too.

If you ever visited the shop or live in L.A, there's no "spoiler" for you in this post :)

It was called Carmichael Gallery and opened in August 2007, same year than HVT.
This Gallery of Contemporary Art moved to 5975 Washington Blvd recently.
The previous adress  from La Brea appears in promos for exhibitions from July, this year.
Take a look to past shows  or artists and you'll discover really interesting artworks. 

 I'd like to know if the idea of starting this new project began when the owners moved or earlier.

Nothing has been said about the direction of the project but the Opening Exhibition, by Kevin Llewellyn. He is noticed  for his realistic and obscure works. He has painted NIN, Jeffree Star, Nikki Sixx, Karoline von Drachenberg and Kat von D. So, the circle is completed.

I bet Michael Hussar is probably the next candidate to show there. Because of admiration towards him and beacuse of his book, A Decade, that is going to be released by fall in november. If he's not there, I'm sure it's not because Kat hasn't beg for .

Post resumen un mes de ausencia

This post resume en 6 temas que es lo que ha pasado durante este mes en el que por motivos técnicos no he actualizado el blog.

Six Cosas:

1. Kat no ha visto Avatar
2. Kat es adicta a Twitter
3. Su pelo es rojo otra vez durante su viaje a Europa. En un hotel olvida una nota de amor de Nikki.
4. Puede subir 70 escalones con tacones de vértigo
5. Kat se sincera en el Blog de Sephora: preparar la campaña para Adora fue duro. Kat no se siente segura ni atractiva al posar
6. Kat y Nikki han roto pero siguen siendo amigos.

El resto de las novedades son estas:

• Kat no ha visto Avatar.
• Kat von D es una adicta a Twitter. Mi RSS de Google ha registrado más de 400 tweets en este mes!
• La "Song of the day" se vuelve muy popular en Twitter. Hay un gran número de fans haciendo sus propias listas.
• Nikki y Kat aparecen con una actitud muy complice en un video para un evento de Penthouse.
• Kat sube 70 escalones con tacones de vértigo. Creo que eso es un hito en sí mismo (ver video).
• Kat viaja por Europa acompañando a Nikki durante su gira. Londres, Helsinki y Oslo son algunas de las cuidades que han visitado. 
• Durante el viaje su pelo es rojo otra vez. 
• En un hotel del Helsinki, Kat olvida una nota de amor de Nikki y pide a través de su Twitter si alguien la encuentra allí.

Si a alguien le puede interesar, el motivo " tecnológico" es que cuando realizas un cambio de contrato de Internet, mientras un operador te da de baja y el otro de alta , te quedas sin servicio. ¿ A que es divertido?

When love fades

Second split for Kat von D and Nikki Sixx was announced by her yesterday via Twitter.

Above you can see the tweets from Nikki aiming people to watch her program and the day right after she was announcing their split.

Both say there are no bad feelings and are still friends.

The couple have been traveling together few weeks before, visiting several European cities that were included in Nikki's shcedule.

They broke up last winter and were back a couple of months after.

Just time will say which is the future for them. On one side, it is said it's better not to try again when you broke up twice. On the other side, it is said there's no 2nd without it's 3rd.

From this modest blog I'd like to send all my love to them and wish everybody respects their decision showing them their love and support.

They have recently rekindled their romance after they split in January.  Out for dinner at Katsuya restaurant in Hollywood, CA

Taxidermista

She feels passion for interior design. It's nothing new if we remember the detailed ideas she had in her mind for her own tattoo shop (High Voltage Tattoo) and for the Monastery, her  photography studio.


When Kat was busy redecorating her ex-boyfriend Nikki's photography studio, she bought few dead animals. She described the place as "Think antique bordello hooker lounge meets Dr. Kevorkian medical room and taxidermy-heaven, Bela Lugosi's creepy library Den!!! Nikki's reaction is pretty f**king priceless!"

Now I found one of the few pictures of  Ville's house with the oak.

AND Kat has been twittering (?) that she's been at Obscura, to buy more taxidermia in NYC. Connected?
Umm.. Forgot to mention. Those legs besides Ville belong to a beautiful mannequin he lives with. Yup, eccentric artist.

L.A ink, episonde 10, season 3

Kat von D and Vampira

When months ago I saw these pictures with the skull surrounded by the Goth atmosphere, quicky made me think in Maila Nurmin. A reborn Vampira.

Maila, Mistress of the Dark during the 50s was quite likely the first female gothic symbol (together with Lily Munster and Morticia Adams).
She played the role of a sexy vampire that hosted horror movies on tv each week on her show in 1954.
As many fans of Tim Burton, the first time I saw Vampira was in Ed Wood. I did some reseach and I fell in love..

I'm gonna miss Nikki pics because I think nobody else has shooted her like him. Nikki made amazing pictures of Kat von D. Incredible portraits.. 
Nobody has looked at her this way..
